Do you have your “shaking head” Corgi?

I’ve got mine to go along with my special edition Jubilee Queen. Normal standard figurines don’t have the crown or jewels. Special edition does and it came out just before the Jubilee.

My Queen was bought this summer in France. It was a random find in one of the street shops in Nice. Corgi was found last week in Brighton, in England At Home shop, in the old lanes.

By the way  both The Queen & Corgi are powered by solar light, so my Corgi shakes his head while the queen waves the royal salute, how cute are they?

They are designed by a very talented Chris Collicot English born but now Brooklyn,NY base artist. You should so go and check his other stuff!!!

Tuesday Walk in Pinkneys Green

 

After a grey, rainy & dull day yesterday, today we have finally seen some sunshine here down south. (read Berkshire) So I took a walk to a nearby national thrust – Pinkneys Green. I took my camera with me in case I get inspired by autumn colors. Here are a few snaps from my afternoon walk.

Brick A Brac Dubrovnik Way – Recomendations

If you ever find yourself in Dubrovnik, Croatia and you are an antique lover then you must visit this shop. Nested just above the old town, not even 10 minute walk, this place is a precious jewel. It is a family business run by Divo & Duska.

Divo is a well know restorer around Dubrovnik & Croatia and has been restoring historical monuments & objects all over the world, like Italy & France for example. Duska is a philantropist and a costume designer and that’s what makes their shop even more exclusive as they clearly know what they are dealing with.

Here you can find anything starting from old paintings, retro clothes to the china plates and fine Czech crystal. They regularly update their Facebook Starinarnica Page so make sure to pay them a visit.

Paint it yourself – Cardboard letters

So after I painted my Mexican inspired candy skulls, (which proved to be quite a hit among my crowd)  I had Jordan’s mum asking me if I can do anything similar with the letters she recently purchased via Nononthehighstreet. She had her’s and his initials(J & A)and she wasn’t sure what to do with them except displaying them somewhere in the house for everybody to see.

You can really find these letters anywhere, these for example are from here:  and are a tad cheaper…

Working on them:

I used the same deluxe paint for wood that I bought  in Homebase a few months before to paint my tired & plain wood kitchen chair and later on my skulls.

And here they are like a finished product:

If you do have time and a bit of £££ you can make this as a really nice present for birthdays, newborns or just yourself,
